Import

Readwise & Reader

Get your access token at readwise.io/access_token. It is only used for this import and never stored. Running the import again is safe: it updates what you already have instead of duplicating it.

Access token Reader library: all documents with their Inbox / Later / Archive status, tags, full text and highlights Also import unread RSS / newsletter feed items Readwise highlights: Kindle books, Apple Books, Instapaper, etc.

Upload a file

Kindle: plug your Kindle in over USB and upload documents/My Clippings.txt
Reader CSV: Reader → Settings → Export → Export library (URLs and their Inbox/Later/Archive status; article text is downloaded afterwards)
Readwise highlights CSV: readwise.io/export → CSV
